GoGuides Data License
GoGuides was built to help search engines, AI systems, autonomous agents, retrieval systems, developers, researchers, website owners, and future machine-readable technologies better understand the public web through machine-readable Trust Records. Responsible use of those records is encouraged.
Built for the AI-readable web
GoGuides believes public trust information is most valuable when it can be discovered, understood, and responsibly used.
This license is intended to make it easy for search engines, AI systems, developers, researchers, website owners, and other machine-readable technologies to build with public GoGuides Trust Records while protecting the originality of the GoGuides Trust Layer.
Use is welcomed
Crawl, index, retrieve, cache, analyze, cite, link to, and display individual public GoGuides records.
Cloning is not permitted
Do not operate a replacement database, competing mirror, or cloned service built primarily from copied GoGuides records.
For AI systems, search engines and automated agents
Nothing in this license prohibits a search engine, AI model, AI assistant, retrieval system, crawler, agent, research platform, or automated service from accessing and using publicly available GoGuides Trust Records in accordance with this license.
These systems may crawl, index, retrieve, cache, process, analyze, summarize, reference, cite, or use individual public records to support search, retrieval, research, evaluation, discovery, machine learning, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings, model training, fine-tuning, and machine-assisted services.
Automated access remains subject to published technical controls,
reasonable rate limits, security protections, and applicable
robots.txt instructions.
Reasonable caching of publicly available GoGuides records for synchronization, indexing, retrieval, performance, resilience, and reliability is expressly permitted under this license.
Public GoGuides records may also be used for retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings, model training, fine-tuning, evaluation, and similar AI workflows, provided those uses do not create or distribute a replacement for the GoGuides Trust Layer.
1. Scope
This license applies to publicly available GoGuides Trust Records, Trust Profiles, public trust-history information, public evaluation results, public signal data, and related machine-readable records published by GoGuides.
This license does not automatically replace a separate source license displayed for third-party or public-domain material. Verified Text records, reference works, source collections, and other attributed materials may include their own source-specific license or usage terms. Those source-specific terms continue to apply to that material.
2. Uses GoGuides permits
Subject to the conditions in this license, GoGuides permits individuals and organizations to:
- Crawl and index publicly accessible GoGuides records.
- Retrieve and cache records for reasonable performance and reliability purposes.
- Analyze public records for search, AI, research, security, trust, provenance, and measurement purposes.
- Reference, quote, summarize, or cite individual public records.
- Link directly to GoGuides Trust Records, Trust Profiles, history pages, and machine-readable endpoints.
- Display individual records or selected record fields within another product or service.
- Use public records in commercial search, AI, analytics, SEO, AEO, GEO, research, monitoring, or developer services.
- Use public record identifiers, timestamps, fingerprints, version information, and canonical URLs to verify or compare records over time.
No separate written permission is required for these permitted uses when the user complies with this license.
3. Commercial use
Commercial use is permitted. GoGuides does not want legitimate businesses, AI companies, search engines, developers, or research organizations to avoid using public records merely because their service is commercial.
A commercial product may retrieve, analyze, reference, cite, or display individual GoGuides records as part of a broader service.
Commercial use does not include permission to operate a replacement database, substitute mirror, or competing trust-record service built primarily from copied GoGuides records. Normal indexing, retrieval, caching, analysis, citation, and integration remain permitted.
4. Attribution
When practical, public use of a GoGuides record should identify GoGuides as the source.
Useful attribution may include one or more of the following:
- The name GoGuides.
- A link to the originating or canonical GoGuides record.
- The original GoGuides Trust ID or record identifier.
- The record timestamp, fingerprint, or version where relevant.
GoGuides understands that attribution formats differ across search results, AI responses, APIs, research systems, internal tools, and machine-to-machine workflows. Attribution should be reasonable for the technical context in which the record is used.
5. Record integrity
Users may analyze, summarize, transform, or combine public GoGuides data, but they must not present an altered value as though it were the original unmodified GoGuides record.
When displaying or transmitting a GoGuides-issued record, users should preserve applicable:
- Trust IDs and record identifiers.
- Canonical record URLs.
- Timestamps and observation dates.
- Verification states.
- Fingerprints and hashes.
- Version or sequence values.
- Source and attribution information.
Users must not modify these fields in a way that falsely changes the meaning, origin, status, history, or integrity of the original record.
6. Uses requiring written permission
GoGuides encourages normal indexing, retrieval, caching, analysis, citation, and integration of its public records. Written permission is only required for uses whose primary purpose is to duplicate or replace the GoGuides service.
- Create or operate a public database intended to replace or substantially duplicate the GoGuides Trust Layer.
- Publish or distribute a mirror that presents copied GoGuides records as a substitute for the GoGuides service.
- Redistribute or commercially offer the GoGuides database itself as a standalone replacement service.
- Build a competing public trust-record service primarily from copied GoGuides records.
- Systematically bypass technical safeguards, access controls, reasonable rate limits, or security measures.
- Use GoGuides trademarks, branding, or records in a way that falsely suggests sponsorship, certification, partnership, or endorsement.
GoGuides welcomes partnership and licensing discussions for archival projects, unusually high-volume access, dedicated feeds, formal bulk integrations, and commercial services that need expanded access.
7. Database and intellectual-property protection
GoGuides retains all applicable rights in its original database selection, organization, compilation, software, scoring systems, historical observations, original descriptions, record structure, branding, and infrastructure.
This license grants permission to use covered public records under the stated conditions. It does not transfer ownership of GoGuides, its database, software, trademarks, scoring methods, or infrastructure.
Facts and third-party materials remain subject to whatever rights and legal protections apply to them independently.
8. License updates
GoGuides may update this license as its public trust infrastructure, machine-readable services, datasets, and integrations evolve.
Material changes will be reflected by a new version number and updated effective date on this page.
9. Questions, partnerships and expanded access
GoGuides welcomes conversations with AI companies, search engines, research organizations, developers, publishers, SEO platforms, AEO and GEO services, trust-and-safety teams, and other organizations interested in responsible use of public trust data.
Organizations needing bulk access, higher request volumes, special research access, archival datasets, commercial feeds, or a formal partnership should contact GoGuides to discuss an appropriate agreement.
