    "verified_text": "giebel, christoph gottfried andreas (1820-1881), german zoologist and palaeontologist, was born on the 13th of september 1820 at quedlinburg in saxony, and educated at the university of halle, where he graduated ph.d. in 1845. in 1858 he became professor of zoology and director of the museum in the university of halle. he died at halle on the 14th of november 1881. his chief publications were _palaozoologie_ (1846); _fauna der vorwelt_ (1847-1856); _deutschlands petrefacten_ (1852); _odontographie_ (1855); _lehrbuch der zoologie_ (1857); _thesaurus ornithologiae_ (1872-1877);",
