(1890), 3284; (1900), 5165, of whom 2645 were foreign-born; (1910 census), 8407. it is served by the electric line of the wilkes-barre & wyoming valley traction co. coal mining and brewing are the chief industries. edwardsville was incorporated in 1884.",
